The CIMIC Group, a market leading ASX Top 50 listed company, has an opportunity based in Brisbane for an experienced Project Assurance Engineer to join the Project Assurance Team.


The PAE provides independent and objective assurance and consulting services to help the Group strengthen and maintain the integrity of its project delivery management systems and processes, including; construction/mining/service management, design management, schedule management, cost management, procurement and risk management.


The role requires significant travel to complete project assurance reviews in the Australian and international operations of all CIMIC Group companies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute reviews at Projects located across the CIMIC Group (approximately five per quarter);
  • Deliver project assurance reviews concentrating on key focus areas in the mining, construction, service and maintenance areas, evaluating key components within the project lifecycle;
  • Examine, verify, evaluate and report on Project financial, operational and managerial processes, systems, and outcomes to provide assurance on operational, financial and compliance areas;
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and processes;
  • Brief senior management, including EGM, MD and CIMIC CEO, on review outcomes.
  • Ensure consistent, quality application of PAT methodologies in the delivery of project reviews;
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies, procedures, and processes;
  • Participate in the professional and career development programmes of the function;



Minimum Requirements:

  • Adept professional with the track record to execute project review activity.
  • 5 years or more experience in Project Engineering or Project Commercial roles.
  • Relevant academic qualifications and professional memberships.
  • Thorough knowledge of some or all of construction, mining, mineral processing, engineering, concessions, and operation and maintenance services.
  • Some knowledge of assurance methodologies.
  • A track record of achievement.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain objective independence in challenging client service environments.
  • Adept communication, presentation, interview and listening skills.
  • Ability to think laterally and analytically.
