Pacific Partnerships is the CIMIC Group’s project finance arm. Pacific Partnerships develops and invests in infrastructure projects built by CIMIC’s operating companies and is a long-term partner to clients through the provision of operation and maintenance services throughout the life of the asset. Pacific Partnerships invests in PPPs and Build Operate Transfer projects.



At Pacific Partnerships, the Project Director is a key role leading PPP bids from project inception to Financial Close, being the primary contact for the client. This is a permanent position based in North Sydney with a geographic focus on all bids within NSW.



  • Proactively originate value-creating PPP and privately financed infrastructure opportunities for Pacific through the establishment and maintenance of client and industry relationships
  • Identify and understand prospective projects, select partners and advisers and consortium formation in conjunction with CIMIC Group Operating Companies (OpCos)
  • Successfully lead opportunities through the EOI process through to shortlisting
  • Maintain an active pipeline of current and prospective infrastructure projects
  • Co-ordinate pipeline and business development activities with OpCos
  • Participate in CIMIC Strategic Client Planning CIMIC’s Strategic Planning process and initiatives as applicable 
  • Make recommendations on project selection, bid strategies and bid structures
  • Demonstrate commitment to ensuring the safety of yourself and others in Pacific workplaces
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant company and Group policies


Competencies, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years’ working experience in infrastructure including exposure to contracting, project development, and structured finance projects
  • Previous bid/project leadership experience including management of bidding resources
  • Industry standing and proven networking capability
  • Commercial acumen -  understanding of commercial framework applicable to project finance and other financial transactions
  • Strong relationship building (internal and external), influencing and negotiation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the commercial issues relevant to sponsors of, and investors in, infrastructure projects and the interdependencies with D&C and O&M/FM contractors
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure sector market dynamics
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate governance and risk management
