Financial Analyst - Investor Relations

CIMIC Group Limited (or CIMIC) is the ASX listed entity company and parent of our various operating companies. CIMIC sets the strategic direction, financial expectations, risk profile and governance framework for the CIMIC Group and monitors the performance of its Operating Companies (CPB Contractors, Thiess, Sedgman, UGL, Pacific Partnerships and EIC Activities.)

 

As an Analyst in the Investor Relations team, you will contribute to the company's share price achieving a fair valuation by the market. This role incorporates strategy, finance, communication, sustainability, marketing and compliance with corporate governance to enable effective interaction between CIMIC, the financial community and other stakeholders.

 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Gather and analyse all CIMIC related sell-side broker issued research and forecasts, carry out analysis, monitor consensus earnings forecasts and maintain a database of brokers forecasts, valuations, target prices and recommendations
  • Undertake evaluation of market and peer data such as their ASX releases, financial reports and investor presentations, and circulate as appropriate to management
  • Prepare analysis of CIMIC’s stock price, valuation and analysts’ forecasts vis-à-vis the Group’s peers
  • Work with the Finance team to prepare quarterly/annual financial materials for disclosure such as investor presentations, Half Year/Annual Reports
  • Assist with the preparation each quarter of a Q&A for senior management that supports the Group’s investor presentations 
  • Monitor various service providers for news regarding CIMIC, its peers and the market, in terms of share price performance, announcements, and issues of interest, and distribute to the board and management a daily update
  • Facilitate the collection and aggregation of sustainability related information (i.e. environmental data such as water use, energy consumption, waste generated, etc) from CIMIC and the Operating Companies for the purposes of delivering the annual CIMIC Sustainability Report
  • Assist in the completion of sustainability surveys such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), and helping to meet the Group’s National Greenhouse Energy Reporting (NGER) obligations.

 

 

What skills and experience do you need?

  • A minimum of 2 years’ financial experience
  • Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in management accounting or financial analysis
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and in PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of relevant Australian accounting standards
  • Preferred extensive experience with JDE
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across the Operating Companies and a range of Corporate functions including: Finance, Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Communications, Sustainability/HSEQ
